Temperament

Buhunds love kids and enjoy being part of a family. They are the perfect size for a house dog, and are natural watchdogs. They are affectionate and give kisses and like to cuddle. Active, intelligent, and very attentive. They do require strong leadership from their human. They enjoy being taught things and are fast learners. Buhunds do need obedience training to establish manners. They can be vocal, but are not aggressive unless provoked. This dog would do well in a home with a yard, or because of its smaller size and apartment, as long as the apartment is large enough to allow the dog to roam around in.

Grooming/Exercise

Buhunds are heavy seasonal shedders, and require regular brushing to keep their thick coats in good condition. They need long daily walks or jogs to keep them in shape, also on these walks you will need to assert that you are the leader of this pack by making the dog heel at your side.
