Description

The Cane Corso is also known as the Italian Corso Dog, Italian Molosso, and the Cane da Macellaio. He is a direct descendant of the ancient Roman breed Canis Pugnax. His appearance is more athletic than other Molosser breeds… Simply put he is a guard dog. The male Cane Corso stands between 23.6 and 26.7 in. tall at the withers and weighs between 88 and 110 lbs. Female of course are in the shorter and lighter end of both scales. The Cane Corso has a very short smooth and glossy coat that comes in a large variety of colors and color patterns…black, fawn, brindle (tigrato), beige, blue, gray (all shades, red. Magnificent Dogs

Temperament

They have a even disposition. Intelligent they are quite easy to train as long as you make them understand that you are their pack leader. Loyal to their families. The true Cane Corso is not aggressive by nature, and should only become so if he feels threatened. A reserved and quiet dog the Cane Corso gets along with the children in the family, always gentle, and is loving and protective. They enjoy the company of their masters and prefer to be close to them. Bred as a simple working dog he is not a fighter, and will not seek out trouble, but he will defend himself and… he can, and will if needed, transform into a terrifying protector and guardian for his people.

Grooming/Exercise

You should brush the Cane Corso to remove and dead hair on a regular basis, and bathe only when needed. They don’t shed overly much and are quiet easy to care for. The Cane Corso is a very active dog, and will make an excellent jogging partner for the right owner. They need to be exercised daily. The Cane Corso will do fine in a townhouse or condo as long as you meet his exercise needs.

Health

Life Expectancy is about 10 or 11 years.
